The basic surgical challenge of any liposuction surgery is:

  1. To remove the right amount of fat

  2. To cause as little disturbance to other neighboring soft tissues, such as blood vessels and connective tissue

  3. To leave patients’ fluid balance undisturbed

  4. To cause as little discomfort for the patient and surgeon as possible

As techniques have improved, many new ideas have emerged that have brought liposuction closer to being safe, easy, painless, and effective.
