Not everyone qualifies as a good liposuction candidate. Liposuction was not designed to serve as an alternative to a healthy diet and exercise plan. To be a good candidate for liposuction surgery, one must be:

  1. Over 18 years of age

  2. In good general health

  3. Have tried a diet and exercise regime and found that the last 10-15 pounds just want to remain in certain parts of your body.

Diabetes, any type of infection, or heart/circulation problems usually nullifies a person from being a candidate for liposuction.

In older people, skin is normally less elastic, so it does not tighten readily around the body’s new shape. In such instances, other procedures, such as a tummy tuck, can be used to supplement the liposuction surgery.
