It is generally not regarded as being reasonably safe to combine two or more cosmetic surgeries into one procedure, especially in regards to liposuction. However, in certain circumstances, liposuction can be combined with another minor procedure for the purpose of achieving more desirable results. Some examples include the following:

  1. Liposuction with a tummy tuck-this is done when there is excess skin resulting from the liposuction procedure and very little hope of that skin adapting to the body’s new form. A tummy tuck is done in order to correct this undesirable result of the liposuction surgery.

  2. Liposuction with a hip, thigh, or buttock lift-again, this is done to remove excess skin that resulted from the liposuction surgery. The lift is used to produce a more desirable outcome.

  3. Liposuction and wrinkle removal-combined when tumescent liposuction is used to slim the face and neck areas to remove excess skin-works well unless, as in older people, skin has become too wrinkled and is starting to sag.
