To make recovery from surgery as fast and painless as possible, the patient should:

  1. Drink enough water to prevent dehydration.

  2. Avoid alcoholic beverages for a few days prior and a few days after the procedure.

  3. Avoid use of ice packs or heating pads on the treated areas.

  4. Delay submersion in water for at least one week after surgery to allow incisions to heal faster.

  5. If dizziness is an issue, the patient should take it easy; stand slowly, ask for assistance when walking for extended period and during showers, etc.

The suctioned fat cells are gone forever, but without a healthy diet and regular exercise schedule, the remaining fat cells could expand, creating assorted, uneven bulges under the skin.
